Day Two

It was a little harder to get up on day two! Similar to day two, students and leaders woke up at 6:45am, got ready, and headed to the bus and vans to drive to Rosedale where the community center and our worksites were!

Everyone was so impressed by how Randy, our bus driver, navigated the windy roads of West Virginia.

Some God moments of the day were everyone continuing to be safe on the work sites, having members of the community participate in devotional times with our teams. Two members especially, Daryl and Luke, sat and had lunch with the groups at their site every day and added to the discussion! It was so sweet to see God at work in their lives as well as in our lives!

Tonight was taco Tuesday! All of the meals were delicious and graciously prepared by the Next Step Interns. Showers and ice cream came next before worship!

The video series continued tonight unpacking the idea of “counterfeit” and how some love that we receive or give isn’t real or is counterfeit, but the true love of Christ is never counterfeit and is something we can always count on.

1. the love of God or Christ for humankind.
2. the love of Christians for other persons, corresponding to the love of God for humankind.
3. unselfish love of one person for another without sexual implications; brotherly love.
This is the word that is used in the original translation of the bible to describe an amazing, unconditional kind of love. A kind of love that we don’t often experience, even though we think we do. A kind of love that is out there, waiting for us to experience and to share with others.
1 John 4:18There is no fear in agape; but perfect agape casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in agape.
